Why Matting & How To.

ALL floors ‘should be’ tiled on a flexible mat. This mat absorbs the movement within your building.

Without using this mat, then you run the risk of your floor tiles (eventually) cracking.

PRIME THE FLOOR.

LAY THE MATTING USING A 4mm TROWEL.

You should also leave approx 5mm to 10 mm gap around the outside of the flooring. eg, don’t lay the matting tightly to the walls.

TILES CAN BE LAYED WITHOUT WAITING FOR THE MATTING TO BOND TO THE FLOOR.

Always make sure the matting has 100% bond with the floor. Just lift a piece of the matting to look underneath.

ALWAYS BACK BUTTER THE FLOOR TILE FIRST AND USE A 10 to 12mm TROWEL TO LAY THE TILE.

Ensure to spread a layer of adhesive on top of the mat. Filing in all the holes in the matting.

NOTE: The bigger the tile, the bigger the trowel that should be used when laying tiles.
